About This Cause:
On May 17th, Benjamin and Sienna's mom, Maria, suffered a ruptured brain aneurysm; she was just 26 weeks pregnant. After countless tests and brain surgery, Maria's outcome looked very grim; the family was praying for a miracle.
On June 13th, the babies showed signs of distress and were delivered just shy of 30 weeks. Sienna was born first, weighing 2lbs 13oz followed by Benjamin at 3lbs 6oz. The babies are continuing to make progress every day, but they have a long road ahead of them. After delivering the babies, Maria's health deteriorated and was declared brain dead just 3 days later.
Not only did Maria fight to give the babies a better start at life, but she also gave a second chance to strangers through organ donation.
The funds raised will help their father, Michael, with the unimaginable expenses of raising premature twins on his own, as well as the immense medical bills for Maria and the twins.
The staff at Professional Physical Therapy are dedicated to helping out a family in need. This situation has become a point of passion for the staff as one of our patients was deeply affected. Please join us in helping out a family during this miracle of child birth and celebration of Maria's life.
We will be hosting a night of food, drink, raffle and door prizes for this fund on Saturday August 16th. The event will be from 6:00 - 10:00 pm at Boat Basin Cafe. There will be a cash bar at the event.
